She begins her Saturdays with " I want Daddy" at the top of the stairs. I grab her and we cuddle for a bit and then I get told that she's starving and it's time for breakfast. Yes, Ma’am.

So we eat together - me with my coffee and her with her oatmeal and white sugar on top.

Once that's done she wants one thing: her shows. In reality these are youtube kids videos as that is the only app on an old android phone I have. It works great for her as she really can't screw it up and buy stuff I don't know about and yet she feels like she’s in control because she can choose the videos she watches.

The question I have is how much screen time is too much? I have read that it’s about 2 hours daily, but if we are allowed to watch hours and hours of breaking bad binge watching then why are there different rules for toddlers? Should there be?

I think the argument is that their brains are still developing whereas adults are already fully baked. I dunno about you guy but I don’t feel my brain is complete. I bet there’s some useless data I could fill it with still.

Maybe I should start watching TV more as a test to see if my brain would deteriorate over time.

The again, it might be too late for me.

As for her, She works harder than me most days at daycare than I do at my job so I’m giving her a pass if she watches a bit too much youtube kids.

It has to be white sugar because the brown sugar slides to bottom and can't be seen - or so I am told.

I wonder if anybody has done that? Kind of like that movie in the early 2000’s when that guy ate McDonalds every day? Oh, Super Size Me - that’s the title. Has there been any research on TV watching and toddlers?
